Dear All,I would like to wish all of you a very happy and prosperous Chinese Lunar Year. May the Monkey Year of 2004 bring peace, good health, success and happiness to everyone.
My resolutions for the Monkey Year are:
1) not to gossip
2) not to act cute aka 'deh'
3) not to say anything unnecessary to gain attention
4) not to sing myself to sleep

Norway's Kurt Nilsen has won the World Idol crown, beating 10 other contenders. Nilsen, 24, became the Norwegian Idol back in 2002, but he only gained international attention in this World Idol competition.Early betting was focused on the match between American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, and her British counterpart, Will Young. However, the ultimate showdown among the winners of the 11 Pop Idols, was the strong performance of Kurt Nilsen. He was the final performer of the night, and when he finished his rendition of a U2 song, Beautiful Day, the judges seemed tongue-tied with admiration.
Trying to be humorous, the Australian judge Ian Dickson commented that he looked like the winner of "Idol Middle Earth." Even the famously hard-to-please Simon Cowell said Nilsen had stolen the limelight from the dark horses, Clarkson and Young.
In my opinion, Nilsen is well deserved of the title, simply because he was the only one who blew me away that night. And I do think that he probably sings live much better than Bono himself. Norway, congratulations on finding your new (if not only) national treasure, and thank you for sharing him.
