I see Kevin has gotten a North American sgbloglocator going on something called Frappr! (Evil 'remove a vowel and add exclamation mark to make things more exciting' conspiracy going on). Now all you have to do is arrow Lancerlord to get it tomorrowed and watch the virtual pushpins come flying in.But thank you for reminding me that the sgbloglocator is looking terribly unhygenic with the large number of bloggers cramming themselves into Punggol and Sengkang right now. The plan was (and still is) to either migrate the locator into Google Maps (Have they gotten to our little island yet?) or to create a mini Frappr like interface by myself. When I have the time of course. Oh and suggestions for features are always welcomed.
p.s. Where is your trackback link?

My appointment was fixed on 15 October 2005 3.40pm many months back. Until 3.30pm that very day I was still unsure if I really wanted to go through 18-22 months of torture. Yes I know that my teeth aren’t terribly crooked, but you people have no idea how much my tongue has been suffering. You see, yours truly have a big fat tongue. Even when it is in its relaxed position, instead on resting comfortably within the ivory walls, my tongue is sandwiched between them. As a result, I have been biting my tongue when I speak, even in my sleep. Solution? By pushing out my teeth (just a little), it will create adequate space for my tongue and I will be rewarded in return a nice set of teeth. With that in mind, I went ahead.
I have 19 ceramic brackets in my mouth and will have one more glued on to my lower incisor when we can find space for it. The installation process took less than 30 minutes. I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort before my orthodontist forced 8 rubber bands between my molars. I nearly bit off his fingers I tell ya. Thankfully that lasted for only 5 minutes. When I walked out of the clinic, I thought it wasn’t too bad afterall. Erm although my pocket didn't agree.
The horrible part came only the next day. The rubbers bands were putting pressure on my molars. Even my canines were complaining about the dull sore. And of all things, my mum had to buy me roasted pork rice for lunch??!! I was chewing with my incisors all the way and it took me for 1 freakin hour to finish the entire packet. Makes me wonder how am I going to eat next Saturday when I have the arch-wires put on.
I have a slight lisp now and my lower lip has puffed up a little from the constant abrasion. And after every meal, I refuse to open my mouth again without going through a religious ritual with my newfound best friends - dental floss, toothrush and toothpaste. He thinks that I’m a pain in the neck - after wanting to put on braces for so long, and finally getting them, all I do is to complain. I hope I will soon make peace with my newly acquired accessories. Ling, just hang in there!

And there I was thinking Togoparts has made the news this morning. After a few confusing SMSes with my brother, it turns out that it wasn't TGP but a member's letter in the Forum pages about Martyn See, MediaCorp and the Film Act.Oct 14, 2005
Films Act: Did MediaCorp run foul of the law?
I REFER to Mr Chen Hwai Liang's letter, 'Govt doesn't depend on 'calibrated coercion' (ST, Oct 12), in which he reiterated that 'the Government must act when the law is broken, whether by opposition politicians or government supporters'.
Police are investigating independent Singaporean film maker Martyn See for making a documentary about an opposition leader as he may have violated the Films Act, which bans political advertising using film or video.
Earlier this year, MediaCorp screened a series on PAP leaders. Is it possible that it could have violated the Act? If yes, shouldn't it face police investigation too?

My thanks go out to Merv for writing about Tea Bone Zen Mind. I think TBZM has become pretty well known in certain circles simply via word of mouth and of blog. After much delay, we've finally managed to find out What a wonderful place it is to unwind and while away the hours sipping tea on a muggy Saturday afternoon. How rare and precious it is to be able to find a place this private and free from the mad crush and rush of the weekend crowds of the city and yet it is merely a stone's throw away from City Hall.
Anyways, we had teas from the Spice Island's Selection on the recommendation that the spices can help prep us (me) for the buffet war (meet the parents) later that evening. Masala for me and Lemongrass for her. Each cup of tea was painstakingly prepared with care and detail and came with its own mini accompanying tidbit. Her tea was really fun to drink too with a stalk of lemongrass taking the place of a spoon.
Apart from the varied selection of teas, the proprietress highly recommends the little eats that are 'not on the menu'. A pity our bellies were already reserved.
Needless to say, we'll be making a return trip.
I think it should also be worth mentioning that we plonked down right in the middle of the 'retail' store of the TBZM expecting to be served personally (since there was only one table) only to scamper out with great embarrassment when told that the teahouse, where you can actually have a drink and a proper sit-down, is right across the street above the restaurant. So if you're ever going there, it's not next to Sasha's Bear Company!

Well it's been almost a month here in the new cube farm and I'm slowly getting into the thick of things. But lets not talk about work (oh tragic work!), lets talk about the villas. We stayed in two actually. Not because we're filthy rich but because our original one had some electrical fault that seems to trip every afternoon during our naps. So we had to move next door.So how was it? Well the place lived up fairly well to the promotional photos we ogled at beforehand minus a few candles here and there. ANd our bathtub wasn't filled with freshly plucked flowers or anything.. and there were mosquitos...
But hey, it was a swell weekend at a swell price and plans to return are already in the works!

The Villas at Sunway Lagoon, a well-kept secret indeed. Not the best in the region perhaps, but the well mixed of seclusion and civilization and affordability created a perfect romantic getaway. We were also amazed by how often we got lost in the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall and discovered new retail shops everyday. And there's the theme park ... which erm we gave it a miss.
