About

You've just arrived at the online residence of wandie and reika. The two of them are NO LONGER separated (but are still inseparable) by a vast ocean and two and a half continents. They NO LONGER need to communicate by shouting really loudly and occasionally writing each other hidden messages in this blog. Feel free to poke around and post some comments.

+ 1 - 0 | § Free Streaming Music!

Check out Pandora and 'find music you'll love'. I'm hooked on the shared 'Bill Evans Radio' atm.

+ 1 - 0 | § Is It Ever Okay To Execute The Innocent?

More discussion leading from 's execution now on Plastic. The focus here being Andy Ho's editorial.

+ 1 - 0 | § Upskirt Fighter

It plays like any other VS fighting game except you have to take upskirt photos of your opponent to win.

by | § | trackbackSo we went to Loof

So we went to Loof on the eve of Christmas Eve. We liked it. And like Blinky Mummy who went the very next day, we were delighted to have had a REAL TV ACTOR serve us our drnks for the night. Ok so it's only for a supporting role in 'Lifeline' but he's rubbed shoulders with Michelle Chia ok!

Pity the rain didn't really get heavy enough for the 'hush hush' 1-for-1 offer to kick in but Loof is definately a great place to chill out and actually have a proper conversation over drinks with your pals after work. Although girls wearing skirts should be aware that standing on the glass floor might distract the Mod Living staff downstairs...

Happy holidays everyone, I'll be here trying to shake of this annoying fever and gearing up for some Boxing Day shopping tomorrow. You read this girl? SHOPPING!

On Ren Ci upcoming Charity Show, Merv has this to say:

"Put Durai and gang on a show trial, rename it Ren-Ci charity show. Televise it live.

Durai and gang will get a progressively heavier and heavier sentence as long as the money keep coming in. Every $100k equals 1 year in jail.

There will be no shite like condos, cars as prizes. If the donation don't hit a specified target, Durai and friends will be set free."

I'd donate to that! Read more from Merv's blog here.

by | § | trackbackWe're Geeks

This bash entry made both of us laugh.

<%Justin> lol
<%Justin> I've always wanted to ask a girl for a cron job and see what they would say.
<+Steph> probably, WTF
<%Justin> hmm
<%Justin> Steph, will you give me a cronjob.
<%Justin> Everynight @ 2

In other news, our site has become quite the destination for people searching for 'upskirt' in yahoo and technorati ever since this entry came about.

Nice to see the quarterly publication High Browse get it's own online presence. So this entry is dedicated to the wonderful people who maintain HBO!

I love reading library books. I love chancing upon lending receipts* that drop out of books. There is a certain voyeuristic quality to it. Discovering that somewhere out there, a Ms Hazleena or Mr Low has borrowed the very same book that I did not too long ago, and finding myself giving a knowing 'insiders' smile to no one in particular but myself. Knowing that I'm not alone in the cult of pratchett or murakami or even irving. And since people usually borrow more than a single book in any one visit**, the receipt becomes something like the 'Recommend A Book' slip that you can get and post up at the Library's common notice board, except this one's more spontaneous, serendipitous, mysterious..... It also reminds me of BookCrossings 'Book Release' bookmarks which are also a fun way to discover new authors, genres and topics. Have I ever gone and borrowed a book that I found on another member's lending receipt? No not yet but I believe I will soon. And perhaps I should scribble something onto my lending receipt like "this one's his best book yet!" and tuck it into a book before returning? Hmm...

And now for a completely unrelated thought.

Do libraries clean / detox / sterilize books that have been returned before pushing them back onto the shelves? Goodness knows what orifices our hands and fingers have all been in whilst reading before replacing them onto the pages of the books. And let me come straight out and say YES I READ IN THE LOO and NO I DO NOT RIP PAGES OUT TO WIPE MY BACKSIDE.

And what about young children's books? I recall seeing notices that children's libraries have been closed during outbreaks of HFM disease but what about day to day operations?

*what are they called anyway? proof of lending?
**rough gauge only, I don't have the stats to back this up, fill us in on this ramblinglibrarian? Post an entry about library to make stat whores drool!
