About

You've just arrived at the online residence of wandie and reika. The two of them are NO LONGER separated (but are still inseparable) by a vast ocean and two and a half continents. They NO LONGER need to communicate by shouting really loudly and occasionally writing each other hidden messages in this blog. Feel free to poke around and post some comments.

Got to love the closing shot!

A case study of LIM in action These early months of 07 are turning out to be quite exciting for local techies. First there was the Opera sponsored Web Standards Conference on Tuesday and then a smaller but more intimate meetup of web developers, evangelists and business owners on Wednesday hosted by WebSG's Lucian. On the 20th, we'll finally get to have a BarCamp of our own and come February, a CSS workshop will be conducted by Russ Weakly right here in Singapore.

I probably wouldn't be able to make it for all of them but I was glad to have taken part in at least one last evening. It was refreshing to see that we finally have some semblence of a local web scene. A critical mass that apparently wasn't there a couple of years ago. We had presentations by Lucian ('Web Standards in Singapore'), Coleman ('Web Accessibility') and Nick ('List Item Menus') followed by a mingling session which had the room abuzz with discussion and card swapping. I was particularly delighted to have met Herryanto and congratulated him on his fantastic mashup BookJetty.

Anyways, more detailed coverage of the meetup can be found here while photos can be found here and here. Here's to a promising year ahead!
