Well what do you know. The PLAY! series of concerts is finally heading to town. Honestly I've never quite paid attention to half the games listed in the program. I didn't even think they even had soundtracks (Morrowind, Blue Dragon???) but I am tempted to get tickets just so i can hear the Mario and Zelda themes performed by a full orchestra. This time around, PLAY! will be performed by the Singapore Festival Orchestra (which I have never heared of till now) as part of the Singapore Arts Festival lineup of music performances.

So a bunch of us were in the bay area on Saturday and we decided to head up north to attend the Flickr 333 birthday bash at the Yerba Bueana Centre for the Arts in San Francisco. We got in about an hour late but the place was still packed with camera geeks from end to end of the reception area. Signing up and answering a no brainer quiz questions (Why are you here?) earned each of us a neat little lens cleaner cloth that came in it's own spongy pouch. Being out of towners, we wandered around aimlessly gawking trying to spot the few local yahoos we knew. Thankfully we were able to find some in amongst the crowd.
There was a silent charity auction of notable flickr photos in the far end. I think they had US$100 starting bids but many soon soared way above my budget. The proceeds from that auction are meant for the Kids with Cameras project. And during all the chatting and snapping away, mini 'flickr' beachballs were being thrown all around (Sorry if I hit you that night!). There was a free flow of alcohol and food. And those Flickr Muffins sure got us clicking away on our cameras in a frenzy. Anyways, find out more about the party here. I'm heading to bed.
